Email: dept_expcrim@lamar.edu
Founded in Fall 2023 by Dr. Boyett, the ECL applies social psychological theory and experimental methods to answer key questions in criminology and victimology. The lab uses diverse research designs—including experimental, quasi-experimental, and survey studies—to evaluate the impact of interventions, policies, and technologies on justice outcomes, bias reduction, and recidivism.
Lab objectives:
  • Conduct experiments in criminal justice research
  • Analyze behavioral and policy outcomes
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and communities
  • Train and mentor student researchers
  • Link with CRIJ 4301: Experimental Research in Criminology
To learn more, participant in ongoing research, or join the lab as a collaborating researcher, please contact the lab at dept_expcrim@lamar.edu.
