LU Psychology Clinic Offering Free Group Therapy

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Available LU Speech-Language Pathology Clinic

LU Center for Resiliency to Host Brown Bag Lecture

"Country Hood" Love Stories with Monica Walters

KVLU Launches Asian News Feature

National Stuttering Association Beaumont/Lamar Chapter Meeting

If you stutter, you're not alone. It’s estimated that 1% of adults stutter which would equal 160 Lamar faculty, students and staff sharing the common experience of stuttering. Come join us for our next meeting, either in person or via Zoom, on Thursday, October 5. The National Stuttering Association at Lamar plays a vital role in letting people who stutter know that they are not alone.

World Mental Health Day Event

The LU Office of Strategic Initiatives will host a World Mental Health Day on Tuesday, Oct. 10, with the purpose to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone’s mental health. The 2023 theme is “Our Minds, Our Rights." There will be information, resources, food, and chair massages for attendees.

Cardinal Connect Laptop Loaner Program
Location: Mary and John Gray Library, 1st Floor
海角社区 provides loaner laptops to LU students as a courtesy and at no charge. Laptops are available for both short-term checkouts (up to three days) and long-term checkouts (up to eight weeks). You must be a current student at LU to be eligible for this program.
For more information, visit the Information Technology (I.T.) Service Desk on the 1st floor of the Mary and John Gray Library. You will need to present your LU Student Cardinal One card. No other forms of identification will be accepted. Laptops are available on a “first come, first served” basis.

Center for Midstream Management and Science Seeking Submissions for Course Modules

To facilitate future workforce training for the midstream industry, the Center for Midstream Management and Science is soliciting course modules on technical and business issues relevant to the midstream industry. Submit proposals on our website before Friday, September 29.

Blackboard Courses From 2019 or Earlier Will Be Removed Beginning Oct. 12
Beginning October 12, access to Blackboard courses created in 2019 or earlier will no longer be available. This means that any courses, materials and content associated with these older courses will be archived and no longer accessible through the Blackboard platform.
For faculty, this change means that you must ensure that any course materials and resources you plan to use in the future are located in your current Blackboard courses or saved to a local drive. NOTE: This process will not impact course templates -- only previously completed course sections with actual student enrollments.

LU College of Graduate Studies Calls for Entries for 2nd Annual Graduate Research Conference
Deadline: Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Entries accepted through Submit your abstract for research papers and posters as noted in the Current Events on the College of Graduate Studies webpage. Acceptance is competitive, with several regional universities also attending. The conference will be held here at 海角社区 on March 28 and 29, 2024.
