Research Council Meeting Minutes
July 11, 2022, at 12:00 PM

Attendees: Mamta Singh, Ana Christensen, Xianchang Li, Amy Smith, Kurt Dyrhaug, Chunda Chen, and Jerry Lin
Not in attendance: Scott Crawford
Meeting called to order at 12:30 pm, by Dr. Jerry Lin
I. Review/Approval of June 2022 Research Council meeting minutes
Motion to approve by Ana Christensen. Second motion to approve by Kurt Dyrhaug. Approved.
II. Additional Deliberation, Review and Approval of draft IBS policy
i. Documentation for faculty salary overage for FY22. Summer months pays are capped for 3-month salary.
ii. Council had a lunch session to review and revise the draft OBS policy.
iii. Council discussion on overload, teaching, time & effort.
iv. Jerry Lin provided clarifications and call for approval.
v. The Draft IBS was unanimously approved by the Research Council
III. Roundtable and planning for FY23
i. August 1st meeting will be conducted through email communication. New council members will assume duty.
ii. September meeting will be moved to September 12, 2022, because of Labor Day holiday.
Next meeting is September 12, 2022, at 1pm
