Department of Communication and Media recognized by Great Value College
The º£½ÇÉçÇø Department of Communication and Media was recently named as a 50 Most Affordable Online Bachelor’s in Journalism by Great Value College. Great Value College compiles these rankings in an effort to contribute to the academic mission of higher learning institutions by providing pertinent, unbiased information for prospective students and working professionals to aid them in making more informed decisions as they seek to further their education.
The online program, which placed 6th, was selected not only for the affordability of the program, but also for the institution’s overall outstanding reputation, its faculty’s excellence, and the unerring commitment to providing non-traditional students a high-quality education and in doing so, giving them all the tools they need to achieve their future career goals. The types of degree programs covered in this ranking include the following: Online Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BA), Online Bachelor of Communication Studies: Journalism, Online Bachelor of Strategic Communication, Online Bachelor of Science in Media Communications, Online Bachelor’s in Broadcasting and Mass Communication, Online Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Professional Communication (BA), Online Bachelor of Science in Digital Communication (BS), Online Bachelor of Fine Arts in Emergent Media and Communication (BFA), Online Bachelor of Arts in Organizational and Corporate Communication (BA) and the Online Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media (BA).
"This is wonderful news for our growing online program. Being on this list shows the world that º£½ÇÉçÇø has many great things to offer, including reasonably priced, flexible online education," said Natalie Tindall, chair of the department. "The faculty and staff of the Department of Communication and Media are the ones who power this program and their contributions have made this program valuable to the College of Fine Arts and Communication. One of the only online degree programs in the college, this online communication degree offers our students the opportunity to balance career, life, family, and their education. Our focuses are time to graduation, adaptable schedules, excellent teaching, and low costs."
The rankings are determined by using data collected from College Navigator regarding tuition, as well as program information gleaned directly from each institution’s official website. For more sizeable rankings, the methodology used to determine placement is based primarily on tuition but also considers things like program flexibility, customization within the degree program both in content and format, and an overall “wow” factor which highlights unique offerings and sets it apart from the pack.
"We are proud of this achievement, and we expect our new online program in communication studies to reach more students and place even higher on this list," said Tindall.
