Richard L. 鈥淒oc鈥 Price, I, Ph.D., was an associate professor of mathematics at 海角社区 since August of 1970. He served as the College of Engineering鈥檚 director of Minority Recruitment and Retention and, for more than 30 years, he devoted himself to recruiting, educating and mentoring black students in the College of Engineering.

Rogers has teamed up with the LU JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing and聽Sandra Cesario, program director and tenured professor in the College of Nursing at Texas Woman鈥檚 University, to bring ovarian cancer awareness to the Southeast Texas region.

This funding, approved in mid-October as part Senate Bill 52, will support the first significant renovation of the library since it was dedicated in 1976.

Three LU teams competed, but based on their preliminary rounds results, the team of Maissa Salibi and Gillean Vandiver was ranked No.11 in the tournament. Novice team Katie Rice and Kaylee Goodspeed was ranked No.15 in the tournament.
