海角社区’s Department of Music will host its annual Collage 2025 concert on Friday, Jan. 31, offering an evening of musical performances by the university’s acclaimed faculty artists. Held in Rothwell Recital Hall, the event features a sponsor-exclusive pre-concert reception, a one-hour concert program, and a post-concert reception open to all attendees.
“Collage is truly one of the most special concerts we put on each year,” Dr. Eric Shannon, associate professor and chair of the Collage Concert Committee said. “This year is particularly special because we get to hear performances from our world-class artist faculty.”
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-concert reception for sponsors in the Music Lobby. The concert starts at 7 p.m., showcasing works by George Gershwin, Schumann, and Brahms, alongside a song from “The Music Man” and an innovative tambourine performance. Attendees will also enjoy a jazz improvisation solo, a debut woodwind quartet, and a group finale.
“Collage is more than just a sampling of different styles of music; it is a concert celebration of how music brings us all together,” Tim Pallone, instructor of music education and associate chair of the Collage Concert Committee said.
Following the concert, all attendees are invited to a post-concert reception, a new addition to the event this year, offering an opportunity to meet the performers and celebrate their achievements.
“I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with my wonderful colleagues in the Music Department,” Dr. Logan Banister, assistant professor of saxophone and jazz band director said. “We have some incredibly talented faculty artists here at Lamar, and I’m excited to collaborate with them to put on this exciting, diverse program of music.”
Tickets and sponsorships are available online at or can be purchased at the door. Sponsors may also send checks, made payable to 海角社区 with “Collage 2025” in the memo line, to PO Box 10011, Beaumont, Texas 77710.
Proceeds from the event will benefit music students by funding festivals, masterclasses, and educational events.
“What better way to spend a Friday night than to hear internationally renowned musicians in our own backyard,” said Pallone. “Collage is a can’t-miss concert!”
