The is a portion of the network, built at the network perimeter that is designed such that the equipment, configuration, and security policies are optimized for high-performance scientific applications. The Science DMZ model was originally developed by ESnet to address common performance issues at research institutions.
The 海角社区 Science DMZ is comprised of equipment which acts as a temporary repository for large data sets awaiting transfer to an alternate research facility for computational analysis. Once the data sets have been compiled and returned to the LU Science DMZ the data sets are picked up by the researcher and saved to their local storage array.
